What's your strategy for overcoming a bad mood? I find listening to music often helps me.

I just do the process...again..
:-)

Music does it for me too........or my 4 year old granddaughter, she can do it, just to hear her voice makes me smile!

retail therapy. Getting a hair cut! Smashing cheap china is great fun!

If it's just a bad mood, I have loads:
- Read a very good book, ideally in bed
- Eat something healthy (or very bad for me, depending on my mood!)
- Drink coffee/tea
- Go for a nice long drive
- Work (this only works outside of the home, and at things I'm good at)
- Exercise, especially outside
- Listen to music- sad, mad, happy- whatever resonates that day will ALL make me happy
- Sit in the sun (reading in the car)
- Writing a story
- Talking to a good friend, though that's tricky since they don't do phones or live here, so only when someone is nearby
- Travel, look at nature
- Go somewhere and explore whatever sensory environment I'm in
- Go all nostalgia- watch an old movie, read an old book, whatever...
- Be alone- I need that often. Probably one reason things are better now that kids are older
- Helping people. It's not as easy as you'd think to find ways to do that, but when you can, it's the BEST
- Playing with animals
Most of the things that work for others, don't work for me. Smiling and trying ot be happy by pampering myself or relaxing is almost always counter-productive for me.

Excellent list. Thank-you!!

depends on how you define 'bad'
If I'm sad.. going outside on a nice day helps. If the weather sucks.. I sometimes just cry it out.
If I'm downright mad.. I need to get physical... clean... muck.. sort.. exercise....throw something!
If I'm just grumpy... .... just ride it out. Find something to distract me, and try to reframe my brain.. lol.
Life is divine chaos.
Embrace it. Forgive yourself. Breathe.
And enjoy the ride....
