My daughter (who is 22) announced that she is expecting a baby come spring time.  I'm excited but scared for her

She has been with her b/f for almost a year, talking about getting married, moving out on their own etc.   This baby is a surprise - a BIG TIME SURPRISE!!  She keeps on saying her life is over (It's not by any means).  I was a young mom - in fact I was 22 when I had her.  Did her dad and I struggle???? OMG yes!!!!!!!  BIG TIME.   I get that even with every single precaution in the world that a baby was a possibilty and here we are.

Her b/f side of the family is excited, I'm stunned and she hasn't told her dad yet.  I know things will work out (as they usually do.) and she knows that I will love her, her b/f and new little one to the moon and back and help them when needed (or asked)

I'm just stunned.  Holy crap!!! I'm 45 and going to be a Grandma.

YIKES!

Congrats . Grandkids are the best.

my  brother was 18  and his wife 17 when they had their first kid.  18 and 19 with the second.  Second kid was 17 when she made them grandparents .

my oldest brother was 18 she was 17 when they got married.  One year and 4 days later they had their first kid. 17 months later their second. Second kid was 17 when she had her first kid.  He was 56 when he became a great grandfather.

I was 52 before I became a grand mom.   I kind of wish it was sooner.
