I just got 2 tattoo's on my wrist and the artist put saran wrap around it, i remember him saying that after 4 days i dont have 2 use the wrap n e more for the tattoo, but the paper he gave me bout cleaning it says that after 48 hrs i dont need the wrap. so what i am wondering is, should i go ahead and wrap my wrist with the saran wrap for 4 more days or take it off after 48hrs?      Thank you for your help!

I've never had to wrap a tattoo...I don't understand the purpose behind this...I've just had to leave the ointment on it and then wash after an hour or 2 and then re-apply more ointment...not a thick coating, just enough to keep it moist.

All the tattoos that I have gotten I only had to keep it coverd for a few hours.  I would take the wrap off, I have never heard of you have to keep it on for that long.

i use the healing ointment.  no that i think of it, i think that the saran wrap was suppose 2 stay on for 48 hours, then i could take it off and leave it off. the paper also said that after the 48 hrs i should start applying the eucerin lotion. thank you everyone

I have over 20 tattoos and I have yet to do anything with them. I let them wrap them when they are done and as soon as I get home I take off the bandages and just leave them. I don't even point ointment on them. I've never had a problem with any of them. And actually the last one I got 2 weeks ago, the guy didn't even bandage it up.
