I've had my tongue pierced before a few years back and decided to get it redone. I went to a place that was well known for doing great piercings, yea right! I got there and the piercer said she could do it through the same hole that i had it pierced through the first time. She told me it wouldn't hurt or swell as bad the second time around, so by then i was feeling ok about it. She dots my tongue, clamps it and kinda pulls my tongue a little too hard because she claimed i had a short tongue and sticks the needle in, that was fine and all and didn't hurt. she puts the barbell in and it won't go in so she is trying to force this barbell in for about 2 minutes while I am in agony, when she realizes the gauge is too BIG! What a moron! So, here I am spitting lots of blood while she went and got a smaller gauge, pierced it a second time and everything worked out. The back left side of my tongue is hurting alot like it was torn or something...I can't chew anything on the left side and it also hurts on the left side when i swallow, but the right side is fine. I don't know what she did. the piercing itself is fine, its just the backside of my tongue hurts.

Fuckin hell.. You might want to take it out. Who knows what she did to it and what may be going on inside the piercing. If you don't want to take it out try sucking on some ice. Might take the swelling down, or atleast make it feel better.

oh my word!  she sounds like an idiot!  When I got my tongue done I took some ibuprofen for the swelling and pain and ate some ice.  It kinda sounds like she bruised your tongue with the clamp, I had a clamp shaped bruised on mine for a few days.

There's also a vein that if she hit it it could totally fuck up your tongue. You should have another piercer take a look.

I had a different piercer look at it and he said it looked fine. he said the tongue is a muscle and sometimes it can be pulled too hard, which was probably causing the pain on the one side of my tongue. Its subsiding now and i can't eat better. the is the first day that I have went the whole day without taking a ibuprofen. Its taken longer to heal because of what that idiot girl did to me. I did complain to the owner of the shop that looked at my tongue to make sure it was ok...He said he would handle it, he was very nice and had been doing piercings for 15 years. I wish he would have been there the day i got my tongue piercing.

Jeebus. Well I'm glad to hear it's starting to feel better, if only a little :) I've had my tongue pierced for 7 years and sometimes it hurts too, just like any other muscle. Usually if I'm playing with the barbell too much lol
