i literally just got my lip pierced a week ago saturday. i have an 8 month old and a 3 year old who play rough and keep headbutting me in the mouth, the silver ball fell off when my 8 month old got me the last time and went down the drain in the shower. my 3 year old headbutted me later and the ball that i put on fell off... the stupid thing keeps falling off. i don't know what to do, im not taking the bar out because that would just be money wasted. should i switch it or what? the only problem is, i got it pierced in another state... WHAT DO I DO???
Go to a local shop and get it switched out with another piece. It's possible that the threads on the post are stripped, and the ball is not able to "grab" properly. It's also possible that the ball wasn't screwed on tight enough to begin with, and you also did not screw it on tight enough when you replaced the one you lost (it's really hard to screw it on tight enough without the proper tools to hold the jewelry steady). Just to be safe though, I would go ahead and get another piece in case it is a problem with the jewelry. Also, if you have a lot of swelling, and I would expect that you do with having such a fresh piercing and all the trauma from your babies hitting it, your jewelry may not be long enough. If that is the case, the outward pressure from the swelling will push forward on the ball and contribute to it loosening. If your jewelry is in fact too short, you would need another piece of jewelry anyway.
