I only ask this with curiosity, and not to sound offensive: what does everyone do as far as work. I work in a dental office at the front desk so I must be careful about what can show etc. I was curious because some of you have visible art and piercings and wondered how that effects your job. I would love to be more "free" about my next tattoo but of course don't feel as though I can.
I'm a Lancome cosmetics sales associate at Macy's and have full view of my 1/2 sleeve. I've never had an issue with it. Some of my elderly customers side eye me for it, but they don't say/treat me badly for it.
I am a properties manager. (i work part time and can do a lot from home.) I list and show apts and houses for rent as well as manage maintenance and oversee construction and renovations o the properties i manage. to be honest, when i meet new prospective tenants i often wear long sleeves and high collar with hair down. this covers tattoos and distracts from my guages since ppl often get unfortunate first impressions. but once ppl know me my tenants and contractors who work at the properties all think i am very professional and no one has made even one negative comment about my appearance. but it would be harder if i met new ppl everyday maybe although i could just wear the conservatively cut clothes everyday i guess.
I am the chief medical biller, managing 3 large surgical centers in Los Angeles. I have not had to censor my appearance at all.
