I've had cats all my life. I've never had one that was so mean, nasty, hissy, scratchy and bitey. She terrorizes guests. We HAVE to put her downstairs when people come over. My husband wants to get rid of her.
DD loves her and wants to play with her(by dangilng toys etc. not grabbing or pulling.) Cat hisses or bats with claws. WTH! She's well fed, has toys, nice kitty beds, gets tons of attention, sleeps between my feet....Why is she such a pil?
I've never gotten rid of a pet. I don't think I could. It seems very wrong to just give up (I'm not talking about pit bulls that kill and maim)
Any suggestions? She's 21/2. Spayed. Rotten to the core.
Hi!
I have two cats myself and I love them, but with the babies (8 1/2 mos. twins) I don't really have much time to spend with them. It's good they have each other (they are mother and daughter- 15yrs and 13), but it's not enough. I had always problems with the little one who would pee any bed/chair , and that's why I always keep my doors closed. It's frustrating, I know, and my DH wanted to get rid of them too. I can't especially we brought with us from overseas and I really love them and feel responsible for them. So, I don't have a piece of advice, but I really understand your position.

If it is a safety issue with your DD (and it sounds like it is), I would put her down. I never thought I would get rid of my cats either, but after they ruined all the floors in my house with cat urine and turned progressively more unfriendly and antisocial, I finally made that difficult decision. I felt sad at the time, but now feel that I made the right choice. Pets are a blessing when they work out, but it's important to remember that they are animals and your family always comes first.
