I need help ladies. I have been making cakes for my family for a few years now and recently started making  cakes for other people. I was asked to do my first wedding cake. While the cake I know i can make so I'm not worried about that, but I am worried about farely pricing it.  Since my SIL made my wedding cake I have no idea what they cost.

My question is how much do you think is a fair price to charge for this cake. It will be a serving for 100, each tier is a different flavor with fillings and there are roughly 300 sugar flowers on it :

How much does it cost you to make it and how long does it take you to make it?

$3.00/ per person. $300.

I paid $5.50/ per person for mine for 100 people, then we had two sheet cakes. Since the cake was $550 and we had 165 ppl, I had to cut costs somewhere so we added the sheet cakes which were another $100.

I'm guessing it will cost me close to $50 to make. Making the flowers will take 3-4 hours, preparing and assembling the cake 2-3 hours. I have to transport it 2 hours, assemble it there will take another 1-2 hours since I'm putting the flowers on there. The cake shown is an example of the cake she wants, but not exactly how I'm making it. She wants each layer separate on cascading platers and there will actually be 4 layers and the flowers will run up the side and across the entire top of each layer.

I'd call some local bakery's and see what they charge per person or per cake and price in their range, maybe on the low end until you are established..then I'd add in delivery, a 2 hour drive for delivery is a long way.

That is pretty. I would pay around $250-300.

Probably $250. You don't want to go too high and price yourself out of being competitive.
