Yes for a cstody case and YES i won! however i;m not thrilled with the cost and I'm still paying almost 2 yrs later :(

Yes. I never needed a lawyer until 2010 and this past 15 months I have constantly had one on retainer. I have been averagely pleased with the results so far, but part of me thinks that once you pay them they stop trying so hard. Ugh.

And I also married one.

I know my husband and his company are "good" lawyers, but I've seen, heard of and met some that I would not perhaps put in that same category.

Three things a lawyer should be able to do for you before you hire them:
1. meet with you and assess your case for free (initial consultation)
2. you and your attorney should have a good rappore
3. the attorney should have experience in the area of law you are dealing with.

Find out if the lawyer practices in your area with similar matters by asking them at the initial consultation.
