Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1. I barely got through that movie being uncomfortable watching the sex scene (although no nudity was in it) and not to mention the birth scene practically made me ill with the way it was done.  Then my neighbor says on FB "she had to answer alot of questions from her 6yr old she was not ready to answer" Well HELLO you just let her watch two people "make love" then get pregnant and watch the lady's body basically fall apart and then watch one of the most goriest, bloodiest labor scenes.  I am so flaborgasted my neighbor let her daughter watch this movie and think there is nothing wrong with it.

I took my DD to see the other 3 movies, but not this one and she is 9, but to each their own.

I don't see anything bad with the other 3 but this one I just really couldn't understand why she would show it to her daughter. My neighbors sister also showed her 6yr old and her DD turned 6 almost a month ago. I just don't understand it.  I could not imagine my 6 (7 in 3 mo) watching it.

Did you read the book? The birth scene in the movie was nothing compared to how It was written in the book. I loved the movie, but was expecting a little more gore with that scene. As for a six year old watching it,it depends on the kid. Some can handle it,some can't.

There was no nudity so i can see where a parent may think it would be ok. But i agree 6 would be too young (i have read the books and knew what to expect)

When I saw it in the theater there was a dad that brought his girls that were probably 6 and 8 yrs. I won't even let my 9 year old watch the other movies.  I really don't like the messages that it gives about relationships.

No, my neighbor keeps telling me she will let me borrow the books but I am just not a reader. Wish I were I have the time I just can't seem to do it.  Trust me this child should not be watching it she is not one of those older than her age girls. It just made me laugh my neighbor said she was not ready to answer the questions that her 6yr old ask. Well what did she think she was going to ask????

My 6 year old went with me to watch it. She had also watched the other 3 movies. She loves anything with blood in it. I didn't really see anything wrong with it as far as the sex scene just told my dd she couldn't watch that part. She watched the birth though and she knows it couldn't really happen and actually loves anything with drs in it "performing" she wants to be a Dr when she grows up. But that's just me. I guess it depends on how you raise your kids. My dd knows that mommy and daddy make love and that's how babies get in mommas belly. She tends to think making love is lots of kissing and that's fine for her age.
so no I don't see what the big deal is. If you don't want your kids to watch it fine. If you do your child should have some knowledge about how things work or be prepared for questions. I am always prepared since I have a teen tween and 6 almost 7 to. There's not been a time I've not answered my kids questions and yes I'm pretty open about sex and think it isn't talked about enough. If parents took time to educate their kids there wouldn't be so many pregnant teen mommas. How do I know this well I worked with babies and their teen moms for years. More times than not they didn't have any ideas they were young parents hadn't talked to them and "it just felt good" their words not mine. My best friend in high school had her child at 12 she didn't know she could get preggo the first time.

So my point is I talk to my kids all the time reguarding sex and am prepared for most things so no I don't feel that slight scene was as terrible to watch as your putting on. But that's JMHO

That is your opinion. My kids know I carried them in my Belly and they came out of my Vagina and they know they are part of both Mommy and Daddy but they don't know how babies are made and being they are only 9 and 6 (almost 7) That is something I feel they do not need to know about until possibly 11 or 12. I plan on being Open and Honest with my kids about everything but I just think there are certain ages they can wait to know the answers to things like how babies are made.  If they do come to me and ask then I will sit them down.

I do think I may have to have the talk wiht my son (9) maybe sooner since he is now undressing my daughters Barbies to see Boobs LOL I think that is most brough on by his 10yr old Cousin who is allowed to have pictures of women in Bikini's all over his room.
