Summer Stuff ...

What kind of things do you like to do over the summer? Travel?  Lounge around?

If your kids are going to summer programs, what kinds of programs do you look for?

We just like to lounge around and take it easy. We usually take vacations in May and October but Kyle starts kindergarten in August so our vacay schedule will be changing.

Backpacking, hiking, getting to the beach, getting on our bikes, going to the pool, doing triathlons...  If we could afford to travel, we'd be all over the place!!  I like to stay active, so I definitely look forward to some time in the tent this summer.

DS is 3, so no summer programs yet, but I hope when he gets older, he can do things he wants over the summer.

When we're home we barbecue, relax and enjoy each other, but we do pre-plan events during certain times. In June we chill with our friends and neighbors.  We go camping and the fair in July.  We travel up north two states to visit friends in August and right before school starts for the kids after Labor Day weekend in September we go to the anime/maga convention.

I am going to spend a portion of my summer beach hopping... already planned and paid for 4 weekends outings around FL .. THEN .. i want to get out of the state .. maybe Virginia to go biking in the mountains.. IDK .. it's my oldest daughter's last summer before college and we want to make it memorable but not overwhelming...

I may put my middle school daughter in Art class because she really enjoys painting and we did not have time for it this school year but.. we'll see.... i just don't want to lay around.. last summer, i gained 12 pounds!  ... Not sure how because I was refurbishing a house that took 2 whole months so it's not like I was on my butt all day! LOL ...

The kids and I usually lounge around the pool or go to the beach during the summer.  The kids always take a little vacation with my parents and then we also take a small vacation as a family.  Not sure where were going this year yet.

Since I work from home I try to do as much free stuff as possible.

We go to the movies every week that are $1, we get season passes to Sesame Place and Aquarium. I take them to the park or we go out to lunch.  Most of the time we stay home and play in the sprinkler, used to have a tiny pool but kids are too big for it now and we are too afraid the dogs will tear up anything else.

I am able to be off work with my kids during the summer. We spend much of our time at the pool or lake. We also visit the park and library to get out of the house.
