hobbies? How long have they been your hobbies and are you able to involve your family in them?

Birdwatching is and has been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember. I get Kyle (and DH, even though he won't admit it! LOL) involved as often as possible. Kyle's even beginning to recognize the calls of certain birds so I think that's really neat. :)

Crafting....probably started when I was 6 or 7......DD is 6 and we've been doing crafts since she was 2
Poetry....started when I was eight.....not quite yet but DD tries
Horseback Riding....since I was 8 but not regularly.....DD and I go at least once  a year
Learning languages....since birth......DD wants to learn Spanish and Russian....she's starting
Needlework......last few years but I'm still beginning.....DD tries too
Beading......last few years but I'm still beginning.....DD tries too
Camping....started when I was 19......DH and DD love it too
Canoeing....started when I was 19......I'm the only one who enjoys it
Gardening....since I was 2 (long story...lol)......DD likes the idea of it but not the work involved
Berry Picking.....since I was a toddler......DD loves it too....and so does our dog but he always seems to give himself heat exhaustion. 
Wildflower picking and pressing.....a couple years ago.....DD likes the picking and pressing....not the info I research and add to it
Travelling/roadtripping/exploring.....my whole life but became the best thing ever 3 years ago.....DH and DD love it too
Making lists/organizing/hoarding?lol......last few years I've become obssessed......I'm the only one
Shopping.....my whole life....DD has loves it too....even DH likes it :o)

My hobbies are embroidery, and I belong to an Elvis fan club.  And as a family we have our horses.  So We spend a lot of time in the summer at the barn and riding. My husband spends more time as a groom and helper for me and kiddo, but he loves the horses and us, so he goes out to the barn and he plans on hauling us to horse shows once my son is old enough to start showing.  His hobbies are music and making beer, and he makes wonderful beer, and he is teaching our son how to play music as well.  I am always willing to help be assistant chef on beer making days and I always buy the most wanted musical instrument for anniversary gifts, so I support his hobbies too.

My hobbies are reading, watching movies, penpaling, singing, traveling, collecting magnets, being online - like on Facebook and CM!), listening to music, scrapbooking and spending time with friends. I've loved to read, watch movies and do penpaling ever since I can remember. The rest came later. My kids love singing and listening to music, and they really love watching movies.:-)
