7 moms liked this
I had picked a man who would stick up for me and protect me, but I also know he is way way shy. umms and uhhs while ordering food, has trouble getting conversation going with a stranger....struggles with job interviews, etc
BUT today, his love for me shined through. I had another neurologist appt and have been having trouble being "dismissed" by said drs. He came with me today....and spoke for me. I mean as clear and concise as I used to be able to speak for myself. He laid out what he noticed and what pain I am in....no stuttering, complete eye contact, the whole "you will take she and I seriously" and suddenly I have an appointment with a pain management specialist and one for a neuropsyche exam that should clarify if I have a brain injury or not.
HE got through to the dr when I have been trying since Sept.
Moral? Never underestimate the power love can have over normal fears.
We may not do anything Valentines Day b/c I hurt....but I got the biggest present today....a husband who can overcome his natural shyness in order to fight for my well being :-)

That is why you should hold on to your husband with both hands. And heart, off course. Because I know many husbands would leave their wives if something serious would happen to their health.

Awe that's wonderful. It's amazing what our men do for us!

My husband is the same way.  He won't talk at all if he doesn't have to. He stuttered when he was a child.  So he still hates to talk even though he is fine.  The day I had a stroke he stood in the emergency room and told the Dr's everything that happened, never missed a beat, answered ever question clearly.  My sister was in shock.  She thought he was a different man.  People think because my husband is quiet around them he doesn't talk at all, truth is he talks to me non stop. He's just quiet in public.
