anyone have knowledge of thyroid problems.. small update in replies *** doc update**
So doc finally called not my thyroid. Said my sugar was high at 102. And said what I heard was my colesteral was a 46 and continued to say I needed to be at a 50. To cut out prossessed foods and fast food eat veggies and fruit more. Only reason I was eating junk was cause I was lossing weight so I stopped eating like usual. Also have to keep a food diary and work out 4 times a week for 30 min...I want to know where ill get the time for this... work 40 plus hours and have to cook from scratch and work out and write it down... oh yeah and raise three girls alone...yeupie
There are a lot of things that could be going on some that aren't treatable and are very minor and some more serious, so you're doing the right thing going to the doctors since you're experiencing something unusual for you. A simple blood test will tell if you have thyroid problems and out of all the things it could be thyroid issues aren't the worse. So, I wouldn't be scared thyroidism is not deadly and can be treated through the right medication and diet.
The main thing you will know for thyroid is shaking really bad. Loss of weight...but the shaking is a huge danger sign..
Good luck tomorrow.I hope you find out what is going on.Hugs!
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism shortly after my daughter was born.I take medicine everyday. They draw my blood work and adjust my medicine as needed. My symptoms were tired all the time,i was always cold, and i have a harder time losing weight.Since i been taking meds i have more energy.
hope you get it figured out soon. having a thyroid out of wack can cause so many different issues. i have two sisters that have grave's disease (a form of hyperthyroid) & i am hypothyroid. one sister has always had period issues, trouble keeping weight on & maintaining a healthy weight (to the point many thought she was anorexic). thyroid issues can mess with your heart, your libido, your sanity. years ago people where diagnosed with being bipolar & hospitalized for such when it was simple their thyroid out of wack.
Not so sure I agree on your statement that thyroidism is not deadly. My endocronologist actually said the opposite the first time I saw him..... My levels were so out of wack that he said "It's a good thing that you decided to have this checked out - you're levels were near the point that you could've slipped into a coma and died" (I'm hypo - not hyper)... go see a doctor - your thyroid controls the chemicals in your body. Very important that you get the medication you need to regulate it.

Sounds like "hyper" keeps you from gaining weight.... I know that with "hypo" It's hard for me to loose weight if I'm not keeping up with the medication.... changes the metabolism.

Little update.. I took my bp at work on one of those machines in a pharmacy and it was 125/76 and 96. Usually when I go to a doc I run 90/60 and maybe an 80. I'm really hoping its stress, I know hyperthyroid causes heavy periods also which would explain why while on the depo I've been spotting for over a month now. Which sucks cause I'm on the depo cause I'm allergic to female products...so one can only imagine how I feel down there. So ill be going to a walk in place cause my doc doesn't have an opening untill next week.
