i had my tubes tied almost 6 years ago (the day after i delivered my 3rd child)...so, it has worked so far so good....i do regret it most times, in taking away all my ability of having another child......but, other times i am happy i can be free from that responsibility of using protection with my hubby and not having more kids...I have 3 great boys and it hasn't failed on me. It does happen in a small %...but, usually when that happens it leads to a tubal pregnancy from what i've researched.

I had mine done over 7 years ago after my fourth child.  I had it done for health reasons and would not know what to do if I were to have another child.  As for failing my doctor swore it wouldn't.  I think it is less common these days for it to fail, but it also may depend on where you have it done and by whom.

My husbands aunts tubal failed over 25 years ago and they had another child, her husband went out and got fixed after that one and no more for them, but in general I don't find it's common.

I know a woman that re-married and wanted to have a baby after her tubal.  It cost so much here in the states to get a reversal that she went to Mexico to get it done, she finally had another baby after trying for some time after her reversal.

Not a Myth. My sister had her tubes tied and they some how fused back together and she ended up pregnant with her 6th child. After that she had another tubiligation done and her bf had a Vasectomy just to be safe LOL

I had my tubes tied 11 years ago and so far so good...I did regret it for the first few years because I wanted another child. Now all of my kids are in school..they are 16, 12 and 11 and I do not regret having it done..
