My daughter Alexis is 6yrs old (7 in May) and is a Hypocondriact since she was 4. She is the only kid I know who willingly or even wants to take Medicine. She sneezes, coughs and she wants medicine, she is always saying she isn't feeling well yet runs around and wants junk food (not that I give it to her). I explain on numerous occasions she does not always need medicine to feel better sometimes she just needs rest. She is constantly going to the school nurse for something and I have told the school nurse about her tendencies but she still has to record everytime my daughter goes to the nurse. I don't know what to do to get her over this. She is even willing to take the nasty meds. HELP!!!

My 12 yr old was the same way. He still gets like that sometimes and thinks he needs medicine all the time. Thankfully the school nurse knew most of the time he just wanted to come home. I just explained to him that unless I knew he was sick for sure he didn't get any medicine. Its gotten easier as he has gotten older.

Well there may be an underlying problem with her consistantly going to the nurse. My now 8 yr old use to do this when she was 6 and it was bc she was being bullied by another girl. Once we had a conference the girls became best friends and she doesn't go to the nurse everyday.
Aw jeesh Rayna, I've never heard that before, I really don't have any advice? I'm sure you've told the Dr. about this, right? Good luck and I hope you find a solution.
My MIL is a Hypocondriact so I think it runs on my Hubby's side of the family.

Have you talked to her doctor about it? If not they may be able to help her. Good luck!
