I've been have some very strong heart palpitations for about 2 weeks. It feels as though my heart is jumping up and hitting the top of my chest hard and when right before it happens there's pain and tightness and I get short of breath and very dizzy Sometimes I get so dizzy I almost fall down everything from lights sounds my kids crawling on me makes me over wehlmed and I have no energy I know I need a doctor but without insurance my only option is emergency room and I'm not sure this warrants an er visit and the 8 hours it will take to get seen
Edit : sat in the er for 7 hours last night total
About 4 hours in they told me they suspected a blood clot took chest ex rays then a few bad wrecks came in and I waited another 2 till I got a cat scan cat scan and blood chemicals were all fine except my blood showed elevated levels of whatever chemical suggest a blood clot they are going to put me on a 24 hour heart monitor but I'm sure I'll have to wait till after Mardi gras. As everything either slows to a crawl until its over or is non existent
But I'm happy to not have a blood clot I'm still having the palpitations but I've been taking it easy today and my DF is helping out so I can
Go to an urgent care clinic. They usually work with people who don't have insurance. You NEED to be seen for this!
Have you had your BP checked recently?

No I haven't. Maybe I'll go to cvs and check it there I'll probably just go to the emergency room tonight. Cause here our urgent care clinic cost money to be seen

This describes me to a T. I haven't seen a doctor for it yet. I need to.
Me too. Add migraines and shortness of breath to that. Sometimes I feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest. Sad part is, we have insurance, and damn good insurance. I just haven't gone.
I'll try to make an appointment this week.
I should make an appointment, I should.

Hi, Beautiful Ladies,
I was recently having this also and was put on a heart monitor. It ended up being ventricular tachycardia and I need to have either a minor heart surgery or medicine (it's not safe for my unborn baby, now, though). My electrical waves in my heart are going at times they should not be.
Not everyone is going to have the same problem as me. Sometimes things like this happen from stress or anxiety, BUT your peace of mind is worth it! The bills will be worth it to make sure you're ok! Many hospitals, clinics, etc will work with you if you are self pay without insurance.
Please go and get it checked out. I'm praying for you!

it can be a number of things, from the simple to something more severe. definately get it checked out, especially if it's lasted for awhile. i had a friend who went through this, she had tons of testing done & finally, a year later they found she had lymes disease. a pretty bad case of it. good luck!
