Tell him no, that's not allowed, and not to ask again.

Well you could tell him that the kitty isnt there anymore that god came to take it to heaven.   Thats what I would do because you dont want him digging that up it will probably be more tramatic for him.

Tell him that digging kitty up, won't bring kitty back to life.  Do you have any pictures of the kitty that you can frame and let him have?

Sorry for your lost..  when my son was 5 or 6 we had to put one kitty down that i took in (stray kitty) it got sick because of no shots couldn't tame him fast eghough. to get its shots.. but my son took to it like it was his well i left him at a friends house when i took it to the vet to get the shots then came home with no kitty he balled and balled for hours.. until i told him hes with someone else we knew that passed.. really what i said is your grant  grandmother is taking good care of kitty now.. he knew her and i know grant grandmother is watching us and will find another kitty when the time is right.. but until then she is taking care of this one.. Well we now have another stray and she is very loving.. but he has never said or ask did grandma send her..

We lost our big chocolate lab a few weeks ago. We got him a little memorial garden stone with a picture in it.(from Petco) Maybe a visual would deter him?

LOL...I hear things like this from my bff who has two boys, all the time.  After laughing about it, I go hug my DD and tell her, "Thank you for being a girl."
