Nothing seems to work for me, not even Rx meds, it's frustrating...

 Have you been limiting caffeine?

I know I sound like a scrooge, but I'm so ready for Christmas to be over this year. Our poor tree is haggard looking from being attacked by cats. I just want it *down* and to have my living room back to *normal.* Bah Humbug...

Yup, if you mean Insomnia.  I take Nortriptyline (also treats depression and anxiety) every night and then if it's really bad I'll take an additional over the counter sleeping pill.  I try to avoid those though because they make it hard to wake up in the morning and make me feel too groggy for too long after I wake up.  I also have to wear earplugs and keep my room very dark and have an eyemask for good measure.  If I have to wake up for any reason I have to be careful not to allow myself to come fully awake because if I do, it's not likely I'll get back to sleep.  Sucks.  I also sleep in my own bed because my husband snores and shifts a lot in his sleep.  Yup.
