Mine is female, but I don't know if I care.

I've always gone to a female.

As long as I am comfortable with them, I don't mind which one I have.

I've only had a male doctor (same one for all my kids deliveries and regular female checks).  He's an awesome doctor!  But, I will say that the NURSES I have dealt with when delivering all my babies were not very gentle when doing exams.  I understand things get different when you are having a baby, but it freaking hurt when they would check me.  When the doctor did the same, it was always very gentle.  I actually asked the technician that performed my first vaginal sonogram if she was going to buy me dinner afterwards!

I prefer male because I find that they tend to be more gentle.  Females seem to know what it is like and tend to not be as kind, IMO.

I've been mostly to females, but would consider a male if he came highly recommended. With my first, I had a similar situation to pp. Dr on call (baby came on Sunday) was an older male I had not met until that day. He was so much gentler than the nurses with cervix checks. He was good for my post-partum check too.
