So last night after work, my mother in law called me to tell me my sweet adorable little sister in law was in labor. 39 weeks, a little early, but close enough. I had a shower for her weekend before last. She is a really quiet little thing, but she is so nice.
Anyways asked if it would be ok if I dropped in and said hi while she was in labor, I just wanted to drop off a gift and leave. But once I was there, she wouldn't let me leave. Apparently she had planned on me being there for the delivery all along. No one told me though. So I was handed a camera and told don't miss anything, get the entire birth video, and some regular pictures too! So I did! She pushed for a little over two hours, and I got to witness the birth of my beautiful new nephew James Daryl, he is 7lbs 3oz of perfect little boy! I had to have an emergency c-section at 32 weeks. And my son was in the NICU for 3 weeks, I didn't even get to see him really until the next day. So getting to witness a birth the way I dreamed mine should have been, but wasn't, it was very special for me! She is the only girl who I have ever seen who smiled all the way through delivery and pushing. It was such a privilege. Can't wait to spoil the little booger rotten. And since she plans on having at least 2 more, can't wait to be there when they enter the world too!
Congrats!! That is so awesome! I had all c-sections with my boys, I would love to be able to witness a family member or friend giving birth.
