Hi! My name is Amber and I'm 31 years old. I have a 21 month old daughter, Emmylou, and my husband and are TTC with baby #2. We live in Lebanon, PA.
Here's what we need help with, and trust me, it's getting desperate. From the time our daughter was 3 months old, we could put her in her crib, wide awake, and she would put herself to sleep. It was beautiful. Even when she was teething, we didn't have a problem. Well, the past month and a half, she has been waking up repeatedly through the night, screaming. Not night terror screaming (we went through that once and hope we never do it again), but "I don't want to be in here" screaming. Last week she managed to vault herself out of her crib. We've lowered the crib, but her armpits still rest on the rails, so we're terrified to let her scream it out. However, we're creating a monster by picking her up and taking her out on the couch to sleep. This is starting to cause my husband and I to fight with each other, and I don't want this to cause huge problems for our marriage, particularly with baby #2 hopefully on his/her way soon.
I'm afraid to introduce a toddler bed, because, like I said, she's only 21 months old. There's no reasoning with her, to keep her in her bed. If anyone has any advice, I would be forever in your debt!
