I had my son and my tubal 11 months ago tomorrow. I haven't had any problems. As a matter of fact, my periods have become amazingly regular and predictable ever since. I have read that the tubes can begin to heal themselves the further away you get from the surgery. Dh and I only thought we wanted one child, then when we decided to have another it took 4 years. So when we had ds, we took the pain of waiting again away from ourselves.

If I knew how bad it hurt, I would've let hubby get the snip snip. I never had a c section, and the gas in my insides, the pain was 10 times worse than giving birth.

I had DS, got preggo with dd having sex once, on BC, when DS was 4 mos old. I said I was getting fixed right after I had her. I don't regret GETTING fixed at all, just the pain from it. And, DS wasn't walking yet, so my mom had to live with us, since I had lifting restrictions. Lol

Since having a tubal my periods got horrible, I was always having gas pains and I developed a hernia at the site of the surgery.

4 years later I ended up needing a complete hysterectomy. But if it meant never having kids again, I'd have done it again in a heartbeat.

Did you end up having your hysterectomy because of your hernia and periods?!

I had a tubal the morning after my daughter was born. 3 months later I had my gallbladder removed. I don't know which caused my hernia or whether it was a combination of the two. Thus far it has not bothered me enough to remove it.

Developing a hernia is a risk for ANY abdominal surgery...

My periods have been rougher, but considering I never really HAD periods prior to my pregnancies, that's no surprise.

I do have several of the symptoms for pre-menopause, and while I am 36 and it could be "normal", symptoms for pre-menopause and post tubal ligation syndrome are similar.

Not the hernia, but the periods. I ended up having tons of little cysts on my ovaries. Not sure if it was related to the tubal or not. I changed OB's a few times until I found one I was happy with. In between doctors some things apparently got left out. One OB told me everything was fine in March. In July I had an emergency appendectomy and while they were in there they saw all the cysts on my ovaries. That's when I changed OB's and had everything taken out.

Here's my story short and to the point, had mine done after my 2nd child with my now ex husband well fast forward 2 yrs and we divorced and I meet who I think is my soul mate (now together 6 yrs) well he had only 1 child and desperately wanted more and I wanted us to have one too. Well let's say I seriously regretted my tubal ligation at that point, took ivf to get the twins we have now very much worth it but it's a long very expensive and at times painful process. Tubal ligation is permanent and as much as they say it can be reversed its really not likely. You never know how you'll feel later down the road so ponder real hard on if it's what "YOU" want.
