Today I had a meeting to set up evaluations through the school for my 5 year old son. So I'm talking with the academic specialist about him and she is in shock. She starts saying "poor little guy" a lot.
then at the end she says it: "I don't know how you do it."
Idk why it bothered me so much but it did. I mean, he's my son. Hes an amazing little boy who is so smart and so kind hearted. He just happens to have some issues that we need some help working through. Yes, he can be challenging. Yes, we struggle with things that average kids wouldn't even notice. But he is my son and I will do whatever he needs to help him succeed. He is 5 years old and has recently started multiplying on his own! He will come to me saying "mommy, 2 5s is 10! 3 4s is 12!" Nobody taught him that, he just figured it out on his own. Sure we need a little extra help but I feel priveleged to be the mom of such an amazing, unique little boy.
I'm probably overreacting but I just had to vent.
