I just Googled it: 40 is the recommended age but it also says "talk to your doctor to determine what is best for you"

 I am going to find out if my insurance will cover it. It doesn't run in my family but I don't want to wait until I am 40, people under 40 can still get Breast Cancer.

I'm 33 and talked to my Dr last month about it and she said I was too young my breast are too dense to show anything . But my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer at 33 and passed away at 46 . My mom has breast cancer now and is having surgery on Monday . We carry the cancer gene

Did you tell your doctor you have the gene? I am sorry about your mother I hope the surger goes well.
