When you have extra money...

...or just more money than you usually have, what are you most likely to spend it on?

I know I should pay extra on bills, and sometimes I do, but usually when we have extra money, we eat it.  I get things I usually don't get at the grocery store or we go out to eat more often.

it depends on the amount but pay extra to bills, save more or go out as a family and do something fun

1 mom liked this

Last year we would of done something out of the norm with it. Gone out to eat, a concert, or taken the kids somewhere. This year though we are trying to get out of debt so all extra goes to a debt. Only four days into it and it sucks but I know after we are debt free it will be totally worth it.

I try to put it into my savings account that I do not have an atm/debit card to. If I put it in my other savings account, I will end up spending it.

Bills usually.....if it's a bonus from work (company profit based, so not guaranteed at ALL), I might get one splurge item but then the rest goes to bills and maybe a little in savings for DD/emergency

you should save it ... that is why this entire country got into the mess that it did because the savings rate was ZERO and everyone was saying they can't pay for their mortgage anymore. that would not have been a problem had people saved more.
