I bought my 11 year old son a kindle fire for christmas. I don't look through his history or emails....I trust him. However, turned his kindle on to play one of the games on it and one of his previously (and frequently) visited pages was a porn site. I jumped down my husbands throat when I found out he was watching porn. I don't know how to react with my son doing it. I need help how to approach this subject with my son. I don't want him to be or get embarrassed. Someone please help.

i know that's an akward situation. maybe it's time for the sex talk. i guess all kids go through this stage and what makes it worse now, is the access to the internet. can you block the suites on there

I would have your DH talk to him about sex and respect for women and himself.  If you DH can't/won't then have a talk with him about those things yourself.

I would also tell him that adult sites are unacceptable and that you WILL be monitoring his device(s) from now on.  There is no reason for a teen or pre-teen to have unmonitored Internet access.

My son started looking up boobs (via ps3 or cell phone) at this age and I'm sure he knows a bit more. I didn't get upset as it's natural for kids to be curious at this age. I do sort of tease him about it from time to time just to see where his mind is and in my own way let him know that, I know. He's more of a nerf/gun kid but recently started taking an interest in Legos, he got the idea from YouTube (which I keep a close eye on) and has a knack for building things. He's 12 now, so I try to encourage anything that keeps his mind off of sex and the like.

I say, consider it a phase and pray that it's only temporary (being he's only 11) but do talk to him about it not with anger but genuine concern. Something like, "Hey, I went to play a game on your kindle and guess what I saw"? Just try to keep in mind sex is a natural thing and he's just being curious ;-) Good Luck

Can you put a parental block on the Kindle? Our son has a nook and Ipad and he cannot get on anything unless we put a password in it.

First off I would NOT be trusting my 11 yr old I check everything my kids do and mine is 10. You need to block those sites before giving your child any kind of equipment. He could have tried to pull something else up and the porn site just comes up. I definatley would be checking all e-mails, phone calls, games and sites.

Thanks everyone. I will from now on be checking his electronics, putting a block on sites/things I deem inappropriate, and I will be having a discussion about what I found (not going to embarras him) and see what's on his mind and if he has any questions about anythng.
