This was in the one my son's mentor gave him.
All horses are polka dotted.
All cows are polka dotted.
What also must be true?

Another one
If all mean people are crabby and all robbers are crabby what else must also be true?

Ok I'm not getting those. I mean it doesn't mean all mean people are robbers or vice versa so...
Then there's a bunch like this...
Mr Steven thinks only kids who cannot spell are normal. Sarah cannot spell. What must Mr Steven think of Sarah?
Now why would I put it in my kindergarteners head that to be normal he has to be bad at spelling? There's some about 7 year olds not being able to reason as well. Why??
Anybody know any good mind benders for this age? Either online or in a book.

Seriously, those sort of things confuse the crap out of me...always have.  I am way too literal of a thinker to figure them out and I'm an adult now and I still can't figure out what the heck they're trying to get at.

See he is very literal as well. I'm hoping to find some easier ones we can work on together to expand his thinking.
He won't even do a math book if they try to make it fun with pictures because pictures don't belong in math books they belong in story books.

I found a link with a few more along the lines of what I was thinking...

http://www.eduplace.com/kids/mw/bt/bt_k.html

Big Bears

Question

Joy has 4 toy bears.

  • The biggest bear is brown.
  • Her smallest bear is yellow.
  • The red bear is bigger than the green bear.

What color is each bear?

Color the bears.

Four bears sitting in a row.
See we can work through this one together!

See, that I can understand, the other questions are too vague and confusing!

I think the author may have been smoking some wacky weed when they wrote that book. ._.
