How old is too old?

I will be 39 when I graduate from nursing school and we really want another baby. Is 39 too old for a healthy woman to have a baby?

My great grandma had 9 the last in her 40's. He was totally healthy so was she lived to be 95 I believe. As long as you feel you can keep up I don't see why not. I'm younger but had large family with lots of different perspectives.

I know several women who have had healthy babies into their early-mid 40's.

the chance of birth defect, miscarriage, etc.. increases to 1 in 10 pregnancies after the age of 35.  We are born with a finite amount of eggs and the older we are, the older are eggs are, therefore those risks increase the older we get.  Tic tock, get started sooner than later besides you have 9 months just cooking the little bun.

Go for it. A healthy 39 is just that, healthy.

Good luck!

I believe if you are able to keep up with baby and you are in good health before then go for it. I would say that regardless of age though.

I would say go for it. Of course there are gonna be risks. I don't know why some women have a hard time seeing or hearing about women having kids later in life. I just had my first & I'm 34, if I have another it will be close to me being 40.
