My 4 year old decided that when she fell asleep at 11, it was a nap and she was awake at 1, just as I finished folding and putting away laundry. She just went back to sleep about an hour ago, and I have to get my girls up and ready for school at 5:45.

I haven't been to sleep YET.

You are in the sleepless years. You will be amazed at how much you can do on little or no sleep. It won't last forever.

oh wow ...  but then again who am I to talk ; I ran on 4 hours of sleep or less per night for YEARS. The older I get the most difficult it is though, I get sleepy at night and have a hard time getting up in the morning  after 6 hours of sleep.

I hear you.  I would kill for 8 hrs of uninterrupted sleep!

My 3 year old is a born light sleeper too.  She just has what I call a "wakeful time" from 3:00-4:00 am.  I'm quickly closing in on 40, and not the night owl I used to be.  My now 13 year old was the same way, and it really wasn't a big deal.  My mom always jokingly says that my very active and non sleeping 3 year old should have been born to a teen mom!
