We put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving and get our decorations up that weekend.
the first weekend of december that my DD is home with us (I have her full time except 1 weekend out of 2) we usually make a whole day out of it - so this year it's a toss between the weekend of the 30th of November or the weekend of the 16th of december which is kinda late. So we'll see. Maybe we'll do it in 2 parts this year ... start decorating the inside on the 1st and buy the tree on the 16th !?
We usually decorate the first weekend in December, but we may start early since my dd is off from school most of the last week of November.
Usually in early december. It used to be we didn't decorate until after my birthday (7th) just so christmas wouldn't override it, but after I got older and moved out of the house I stopped worrying about that so much. Now I barely notice either "holiday". I put up decorations usually a week before x-mas and then took them down soon after. But we're living with my parents this year and my mom likes to decorate so ......
The weekend of Thanksgiving.
We start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. Mostly because the kids want "Bobby" the damn Christmas Elf-on-a-Shelf to come. Yes, it is cute to see them hunt for Bobby each morning and sometimes we come up with some clever spots to hide him, but there have been some frantic 4am "oh SHIT!" moments when forgot about moving Bobby to his next spot!
The weekend after Thanksgiving.
** It's 5 O'clock Somewhere **
We normally try and get everything up the Friday after Thanksgiving. If we can't get it all in one day, it's extended into the weekend.
