Dating my Son's best friends dad! Need to know how to break the news to him!

Hi my name is Nan. I am a 32 year old single mom of a teenage son. I recently started dating my son's bestfriends dad. I am wondering if I can get any advice on how to let our kids know that we are dating?

I don't know, but I would just be honest and tell him before he finds out on his own.

That will be fun.  Oy, can't imagine.  Just tell him the truth and soon.  Good luck!

We have been friends for a while so it is not unusual for us to hang out. But I am afraid that the boys are going to pick up on the fact that things have changed between us. This is really a hard one!!

Just a suggestion- set them down together & break the news to both of them at the same time so words don't get twisted from one son to the other. His son will hear how you feel about his dad when you talk to your son. And your son will hear how the guy feels about you when he tells his son.

I would want the kids to hear it from me and the other kids dad ... I think it would be more sketchy if it was your son's gf isntead of just a friend, so that part will probably go smoothly, even if they think it's weird for a while =p BUT, you and the dad needs to remember that if the relationship goes sour, you'll still have to see the other kid if they are friends.
