Before my dd was born, I made more money than my SO, but I haven't worked in 7 years.

Your question made me lol. Even when my husband was collecting unemployment, he still brought in more money than me. And I have more education than him.

I as the sole income for a few years, now DH makes same as me.  Nice to have the breathing room, it can be very stressful being the only moneymaker!

I've been a single mom for 13 yrs. and the sole provider. I remarried 4 months ago and still the main provider. My husband has MS and can only work PT. I enjoy what I do and make good money, so this isn't an issue for us. I'm use to being the sole provider. He helps me in the business end of things so it's a win/win. He gets to do what he did before the MS and rest when he needs too. He's taken a load of my shoulders. It's been a blessing :)

While dh was in school he was getting some money from the military but I was the one working and making more. But now he makes way more than I do and he works double the hours that I work.
