Has anyone successfully done make ahead mashed potatoes? I was thinking of doing this recipe

I would most likely just keep them in the fridge until Thursday and then reheat them in the crock pot. I was concerned that they might taste a little off from being reheated.

Have you ever done it? Did they taste good?

I  usually  cook my potatoes the day before but I heat and mash them shortly before the dinner is ready. I have made them all the way then heated them in the oven and they were just fine.

Reheated mashed potatoes, no matter how it's done, have a different taste that's not nrealy as good as when they are fresh.  Since they are quick & easy I'd just make them the same day.

I've never made them in advance, but leftover reheated mashed potatoes never taste the same to me.

I'm not sure I'd like cream cheese and sour cream in my mashed potatoes.

What I do is cut the potatoes the day before, and put them in water in the fridge, so I just gave to pour them into the pot to boil. It's the cutting that takes so long for me.

I never tried it but I bet it's good. I love left over mashed potatoes.

DH vetoed it. He said he would get them ready. That is the most time consuming part.

They do have a different flavor when reheated. Mashed potatoes don't take long so I'd just do them that day.
