For my in-laws Christmas, she will fix a big breakfast (which sometimes turns into brunch).

Holidays when we are traveling (like Christmas) we just have what the houses we go to are having. But Holidays where I am cooking (like this year for Thanksgiving) it is usually a late lunch that people munch on throughout the day. We have the big meal together and then the rest of the day as people get hungry again they come have more.

My Italian family does a variety of lasagnas for dinner on Christmas Eve and special meat on Christmas Day.  My husband's Uruguayan family does a late dinner for Christmas Eve.
