As I am sitting here waiting for the washer and dryer to finish so I can add another load, I start wondering how many woman/ men have been driven into jokes or poetry about the endless loads of laundry.
I thought this one was cute. PLease add your own if you got them. It can be just some silly thing or just a gripe. Whatever you want.
Sock Eater
by Betsy Rosenthal
On laundry days
my mother says
the dryer is a crook.
It’s all because
a sock is gone—
the one the dryer took.
I tell my mom she shouldn’t
let the dryer
see us eat.
It’s sure to munch a sock or two
because it craves a treat.
I don't have a silly saying or anything...but every time I do my laundry, I wonder if I am going to get to the bottom and find more missing socks....I was pulling my laundry out of the washer one day, and I actually caught the washer trying to "EAT" one of my childs socks!!! It was halfway under the bottom lip of the agitator in the middle of the washer basket!! I had to pull really hard to get it out. I wonder how many socks I would find if we were to take the bottom off of the washer???
I saw the very same thing today, and wonder too, if I would find all my missing socks there if I looked.

Super cute poem! You should print that out on plaques! I would buy one! When it comes to the laundry, I am not as creative as you. I just keep wishing for my fairy god mother to come and complete the dreadful task but.......... I am beginning to think she forgot about me... (sigh).
I found this one on another search
She gave life. She is a wife.
She is a mother and she is a friend.
She is a sister a survivor to the end.
Appreciate her, we don’t dare.
Ask her worries, we don’t care.
Wipe away her tears, they are invisible as air.
She works cooks and clean.
She laughs, helps comfort, and hides her pain.
When you struggle she pulls you through
All this is she and what do we do?
Complain and create a mess.
Provide stress and leave her feeling depressed..
Push her away and ignore her advice.
Tell her she is nothing without thinking twice.
She was raped tortured and abused.
Told she was nothing and would always be used just for pleasure forget her pain.
She swallows her pride, put her feelings aside.
Does as you need in order for you to be free.
Ignores your ignorance and tolerates your flaws.
You call her Bitch, Slut, Hoe and Tramp
She answers with pride dignity and a complete loss of self.
You call her nothing.
I call her Strong, Smart, Sensual, Caring, Giving, Surviving, Tolerant and powerful
I call her WOMAN!
