Hi! I homeschool my 2 sons, ages 7.5 and 2.5. We use Time4Learning, an online curriculum for my oldest that I will also use for my youngest next year. For right now, we use a mulititude of things to preschool...my favorite thing is a website, www.starfall.com. My son loves it! He's using it right now to work on his ABCs and beginning phonics sounds. We also to do pages from pre-k workbooks like "complete book of letters" and "complete book of numbers." We have lots and lots of reading time, be it at home or at the library. We live in a very rural area that I'm sure has a lot of homeschooling families. They just don't seem to be involved in many groups. I could talk about the "what about socialization?" question for probably days, but I'm sure you'll find I'm not the only one. :o)Good luck with your homeschooling endeavor! :o
Here is a site that I am still exploring - it has many different links...some helpful, some not, some broken...but I've found a few things that have helped out with some things that we have been learning about here at home.http://eduscapes.com/tap/topic86.htmWe also use the Leap Frog Videos. My daughter was able to recite the alphabet from memory, could do sight recognition, and knew most of her letter sounds by her 2nd birthday.
Quoting luckiestgirl:Hello! My name is Kelli & we have a 3 yr old daughter that we will be homeschooling. I am not going to get any curriculum for her. I contacted our school & asked for a Kindergarten Readiness sheet (a paper that lists what she should know before starting Kindergarten) so I will be using that as our goals to reach in the next 2 years.
