We went in for a routine check up Nov 18th and his heart wasn't beating. Alex delievered Nov 19th around 9pm. He was so small he was only 10.5 in and only 11 oz. They said they think there was an infection in the uterus that caused him too much stress. I'm trying to get some answers and not blame myself but it's been so hard. We were one week away from the beginning of our 3rd trimester. Has this happened to anyone else. How would an infection get into the uterus. What kind of infection could it have been. I feel so lost I just want to know what happend to my baby. We won't get autopsy results back for 6 weeks and i'm going crazy.

I know how you feel. I lost my little girl the day i would have been 7mos. The waiting is the hardest part. I waited 5mos to find out anything and unforturly they were not able to tell me anything. We will never know why God took our little angle. But I'm not going to let that stop us from trying again.

Hopefully you will find out what happend to your baby. It dose ge a little better over time. But what happend is not you fault. Your child will be with you all the time. If you ever need to talk I'm here.

I'm so sorry,

It's been awhile since you posted this, have you found any answers?

I had an infection, Group B Strep, we didn't find out till after. caused Premature Rupture of Membranes and then I went into pre-term labor and delivered him 25 hrs from rupture. It happened at 17 1/2 wks.

We didn't have an autopsy, but they tested the placenta and membranes showing infection. a vaginal swab culture showed high levels of Group B Strep a week after the delivery. we are basically just putting two and two together you know.
