My son was diagnosed with this, it was explained to me as similar as autism, though some professionals I've talked to say there are differences and the way you treat a child with NVLD should be specific to NVLD. I was told by my sons school that it is the same as autism and that the doctors just have stricter guidlines when diagnosing autism than a school does so they call it NVLD, the psychiatrist says this is not the case and that there are marked differences. I am still somewhat confused by it all so I hope I haven't confused you also!
Sure have, I have had it all my life. It's ok, I just learn and react to things some things differently.
It is not the same as autism, although it is similar in many ways. However, there are some real differences which can help with proper diagnosis.
