 I am Amy and new to the group. I have an 8yr old son that ADHD and Anxiety. Autism has been put in as a possibility but no diagnoses yet. Two people who know him mentioned it. His pedi has finally ordered a referal and his father and I went to talk to someone about him and we did and I am still watiing to see if he will be evaluated. He is very emotional and last year had issues with writing and wanting it perfect that caused him to have to be classified as learning disability on his IEP. His teacher also had to allow him to go without his shoes because they were an issue. I am stuck with knowing he is emotional and handling situations acordingly. His anxiety medicine has helped but he still has his moments. My question is how can I figure out if it is the ADHD and Anxiety together making it look like Autism or a combination of all of them? I have looked up ADHD and Autism and they can be misdiagnosed because of similarities.
