My husband and I are helping with stockings for needy-  our job is to get gift cards for the stockings.Preferably at a common store since the stockings are going all over the US. We live in small town Utah (not the real name) and pretty much the only common store we have is Walmart.  Would I be a hypocrite to buy gift cards from there?

Instead of walmart gift card what about visa giftcards?   I know that some grocery stores carry them now.  Well depending on where you live  or even malls will carry them too.   Just go to the customer service desk.

I agree, the visa gift cards would be a great idea.  Too bad you can't put a stipulation on it saying that it can't be used at Walmart. lol

Ditto on the grocery store.  They have a whole variety of cards...or you could even get the grocery store's own cards.  Home Depot, Target...that could be a huge help to someone.

I agree, the Visa gift cards are probably best, since Visa can be used anywhere.

I just checked online, and you have to put $25 on each card. We were only going to put $5.

Why??

Say it isnt so..

Didnt Smiths carry the cards you needed? I use to live in your (small town utah) and I know they carry them as well as Hastings, and Albertsons.

I am however glad you survived your Walmart visit and confessed your sin (lol)

You penance will be watching noggin with your children for a full hour.

No other visa/master card/discover card sold gift cards low enough for me to purchase.

I'm not sure what noggin is, but if you explain it to me, I'd be willing to pay my penance.
