I am a fairly new bellydancer.I have been bellydancing about 4 months. I dance a more tribal style I love the music and costuming of Tribal bellydancing! I dance a lot at home in front of mirrors and with my 2 yr old son Buddy he like to bellydance with me and actually has some good arm and shoulder moves! We both have a lot of fun with it sometimes he will ask me to dance!
I don't know if I have ever gotten as far as developing a style...as I have told you goblyn my focus is Indian Classical from the north so Kathak...and it is a lot of flat foot stomping. I dance for the ecstatic and spiritual nature of what it contains, and so I also love to spin and dervish type of stuff.
"Listen to the plants, they have much to say."
I love folkloric but mostly I dance Cabaret.
awesome...welcome to the club! my two boys like messing with my bellystuff too thats great so does yours...lol.... it hillarious.....
Hello! I am mostly Tribal, but open to about anything that looks fun! I am trying to teach myself Poi spinning....ugh! Its fun though:)
I started dancing many years ago, but stopped due to military moves and a growing family. I just started back again this winter. My goal is to be able to try out for a professional group that is here in NC...wish me luck!
Have a great weekend!
good luck! you'll have to let us know how it goes ... you go girl
I have done mostyly Cabaret and have tribal once.
I've been dancing for almost four years, and still don't feel like I have a well-defined style of my own. I do a lot of fusion mostly because I can't make up my mind what type of dance I like best. I love the sassiness of gypsy, the slow slinkiness of tribal, and bubbly energy of cabaret. I kind of go where my mood takes me. Lately I've been working on the sword...love the power I feel with it!
