Hi I am a mom of four. My youngest is eight   he has had many health problems since birth. One is they thought he had autism at a young age. He spoke simple words at nine months. By age 1 he stopped   he had to have tubes in his years  and he started having problems with his colon. He then did not speak except for baby babble until three in a half years old. We put him in speech at age of three. He has since had his addnoids out, several and several tests and procedures for his colon. He had chronic constipation and encopresis, his colon hardly contracts at all and he does not feel the urge to have a bowel movement. He just recently had a Mace appendicostomy  done. Which he has a small whole in his belly button and we have to put a chathader in every night and flush it out with about a bottles worth of water to clean his colon out. He has a mild cause of OCD and has a very bad sleeping pattern. They are now leaning towards him having Aspergers Syndrome. But his doctors he has seen only want to see him for what he is there for that day. I have brought it up to the doctors several times and they just it off. I would really like for him to actually be tested for it and find out either way. Yes he has it or no he does not. He is now going into third grade. Last year due to his surgery he missed 19 days of school. Two weeks total of hospitalization and the rest for follow up appointments.   At the end of the year his teacher told me he was still one of the top students (when it came to his grades)  I am frustrated with this and don't know where to turn please help  :(

Hello Namtoe!!

My 6 year old son Micah has Aspergers Syndrome.  We were sent to a Behavioral and Developmental Psychologist and that is who diagnosed my son.  You can also have your son seen by a Neurologist.  You will need a referral from your pediatrician to get an appointment with these kinds of specialists, so I would try to get a referral.

Sounds like your plate is full!!  You and your family are in my prayers.  Please PM me if there is anything I can help you with, or any questions I can answer!!

Hope you can get some answers soon.

Hugs to you.
