Welcome to the group!

This is a group where you can discuss the risks your children face with
drugs and alcohol, no matter the age of your child or what issues you
might be facing.  Introduce yourself here, and tell us a little bit
about yourself, your family, or anything you want to share!

Hi! I'm Brenda i am mom to 3 pretty great kids!! My boys are 12 and almost 14 and my daughter is 4. My oldest started high school this year and so far he thinks smoking, drugs, and drinking alcohol are stupid. I sure hope it stays that way!!!

Hi!!!

My name is Carey and I live in far Southwest Virginia.  My youngest is 4 and my oldest is 13.  My concern is my oldest, as he is my stepson and his mother, with whom he lives, is an alcoholic.  I am concerned for everything that he is exposed to.

My husband and I are both police officers and we have seen the damage that can occur due to alcohol use and abuse.  My husband has won the MADD award for his area for the past 5 years.  we both strongly support alcohol education and DARE programs throughout the state.

I look forward to sharing with you my experiences and ideas!!!

Hi! My name is Tammy, I have 3 wonderful kids. One in grade school, one in high school and one just started college this year. They all think drugs are dumb for anyone at whatever age to do. They have been thru the Dare programs at school and stand by it. There is just so much going on in schools now days that kids have to deal with everyday but I know my kids have a good head on their shoulders and i trust them to do the right thing.

Hi.  My name is Jennifer and as of right now I only have one son who is almost 18 months old but I am going to do everything in my power to keep him off drugs.  I never did drugs when I was a kid but my husband was into a lot of drugs and he does not want any of that for our son.  We have been together a little over 3 years and married 3 years in December.  His drug of choice was cocaine and he has not had any for 4 years next month.  I know it is hard for him but he wants better for our son so we are going to try our hardest to keep him away from it.  I am excited to get to meet other  moms and get all kinds of advice!

My name is Sam, I'm a SAHM to a adorable 6 month old girl. My husband and I have seen friends go down the wrong path and ruin their lives, be it drugs or alcohol. While I dont agree with alot of the prevention programs, I think the bottom line is clear. Somehow, we need to keep our kids off drugs, and teach them to be responsible with alcohol.

Hi all, Im Nicole mom of a 3 yr old little boy named Braelyn. Married to Lance. I live in Alabama. I work full time at a trucking company. My thoughts on DRUGS IS NO NO NO!!

I worry all the time about what new drug will be around when my son gets older.  Meth has seemed to take over the world and it really scares me. I will do my BEST to keep a good eye on my son and make sure to teach him about drugs and how they can rip you apart! :)

My name is Melissa. I am a single parent of a 6 year old boy named Caleb. As for drugs and alcohol, I have been around people (in my past) who have used many different types and I have seen what it did to them. The addiction, the selling things for another high, etc. Definitely, not what I want for my son or anyone in my family. I have to be honest, I have tried a few different things in my past (way, way back in College) but nothing hard core. Praise God! I can only thank the Lord that I have a deep desire to stay way from drugs and alcohol. They are not for me. I give thanks to the Lord everyday that He truly protected me and watched over me back then and now and I know He will do the same for my son. I will be praying for my son and teaching him to always say NO to drugs and alcohol. No matter what the cost.

Glad to be a part of this group. : )
