My son just turned 16 and he's not a bad kid. I mean, he's had some detentions here and there, but has never been in any serious trouble. He's been bringing around a friend who seems like a bad seed. I suspect his friend smokes pot and I definitly don't want my son getting into that.
It would be unfair to come out and say he can't hang out with his friend because I have no proof. Any ideas on how I can find out if my son is doing drugs?
I understand your concern. The worst thing you can do is come out and blame your son if he's not smoking pot, this will tear a hole in your relationship. I just use this thing called the home drug test kit. You can find it on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/ProbeLine-Drug-Free-Home-Kit/dp/B001QGG0YW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1232724619&sr=1-2
You just use the product to test different things for residue of drugs. It's nice because your kid doesn't have to know. It's got five tests and I'll just use it on his keyboard, cell, etc. Just any surface that could have drugs on it. We haven't found anything yet (thank god) but I'll definitely keep using it to make sure.
Hope this was helpful..
