Preface this noting: I don't normally play video games. Love watching them, not so much playing. However, DH insisted we get a second controller and we co-play this one. Liked Fable and Fable 2. This one? It was fun until overtaking the kingdom.

Did anyone else feel like there was too much politics shoved into this one? I mean, come on, really... bailouts? Don't get me wrong, there were some really great elements like the side mission of "the game" - DH and I laughed so much with that one - Understone, etc. DH was annoyed with the lack of weapons and the inability to fight with fists - as well as the majority of the weapons requiring evil actions to gain bonuses. I missed some of the finer controls and "menus" they decided to do away with. Weapons had information, but clothes didn't? Why not? Did like how you could lock out accidental finger slips of casting spells around people and it not hurting villagers. Didn't like that there wasn't an option of "repair all" buildings on the map... actually I hated the useless map all together. I mean, whats up with not having an indicator of where you are in the town???

I don't know, I think Fable 2 was better. If they make a Fable 4 (sounds like they are... and a fable 5 too?) they're really going to have to step the game up and bring back stuff. I mean, come on.... I beat the game. Mostly on my own (hubby helped me through the middle, but I defeated the end by myself). Me. The hand-eye coordinationally challenged beat the game. That right there should send up a red flag on it.

tl;dr: It's fun, but with some major sacrifices. Could have been much better, but it felt way too thrown together for me.

I had a lot of fun with this one. I liked it way more than Fable 2 because that Spire part killed the second one for me. I didn't mind being a monarch or making the decisions but I do feel like they were all too simplistic. It was a very simple good vs. evil decision every time.

I thought the clothes were there to just look pretty and didn't have any armor or anything so I wasn't bothered by a lack of info on them. I liked the villagers not freaking just because I could use magic.

I think the map could have used a lot of work too. It was better than no map at all but that's not good enough. And I did have to sell a lot of houses just so I didn't spend 10 minutes fixing all of them.

As for difficulty, Fable has always leaned toward the easy side and I don't know that this one is really easier than the other two. The final boss from the second one could have been beaten by my 3 year old. I think they do it on purpose so people enjoy the feel of the game without getting bogged down in difficulty.

When they make the next Fable game I know I will play it. But one thing about Fable is it always makes me want to play Dragon Age. And since it sounds like you are looking for more in a game I would recommend trying that game.

I prefered Fable 2 for the storyline, personally. I liked where Fable 3 was heading, but, yeah the simple good vs. evil political decisions just really got under my skin because it was very politically charged towards a specific standpoint. And, yes, I know it's a game, but it was still annoying. With the clothes, they obviously had stats to them since some made you more attractive and some less, but you couldn't get that information unless you put it on, exited the clothing quarters, ran back out to the main sanctuary, and checked your stats.

I also didn't like how you couldn't dismiss quests - like the ones for murdering people where the action didn't open up further missions (IE: love, peace, and homicide opened up the dark sanctuary, but killing Thomas Kadkin didn't do anything). Heck, I was hoping I could dismiss some date requests too. : (

I am looking for more in a game, like I said, I liked Fable and Fable 2. I was expecting more from 3, but I felt it didn't completely deliver. I'll more than likely pester my husband to get 4 when they make it, I do like the series. I did enjoy 3, don't get me wrong, I just found a lot of it lacking and the things they touted as 'better' weren't exactly better in my eyes. I guess I felt more like they fixed things that weren't broken.
