my baby boy is finally here! 4 days past my due date but he's here...

Connor was born on Nov 9th at 2:47pm

he was 7lb 7.7 oz (lucky numbers!) and was 19.5 in

i woke up at 3am sat and had lost some mucus plug and started feeling contractions (finally!) and then for the rest of the day i just had strong cramps. since i hadnt felt like this at all before i had high hopes that i would be seeing my little boy soon. so the day progressed and i sat on my birth ball as much as possible and then around 8 i started noticeing that contractions were coming around 10min apart. that went on until 10 when the irregularly came 2-6 minutes apart. at 12:30 am i called my doctors and they said to give mysself another hour or two since i said i didnt want to be sent home. by 1:30 i couldnt take it and let them know iwas coming in. i was so happy when they checked me for one, i was immediately put into a big room so i was pretty sure id be staying then after a month of beign 1cm i was shocked to learn i was 6cm. 4 hours later i was 8. they popped my bag and started me on a low dose of pitocin since my contractions werent strong enough. by 11 i was a 9....then i got  stuck. since i was trying to do it as natural as possible i kept refusing the pain meds against the will of all my family. the nurses kept saying theyd never seen someone labor like me. apparently i was so calm. lamaze helped. so since iwas still a 9 at 12 they convinced me to give me a low dose pain med thru the iv. they were trying to get my body to calm down, because even tho i was calm my body was tensing and not allowing me to open. at 1 they told me it was looking like i was going to have to have a c section unless my body calmed down unless i took the epidural to give myself a better chance of having a vaginal delivery. after a lot of discussing i decided to take it and immediately i feel asleep. an hour later i woke up telling the nurse i felt like i needed to go #2 and kept telling her i did but she insisted it was the baby and told me to try to sleep another hour. but i insisted i had to og so she checked me and i was at a10 and crowning!!! 10 minutes later i was holding my baby boy.

im so happy he's finally here. he so calm and hardly ever cries.i feel so blessed and lucky. my family keeps telling me theyre so proud of me for handling labor so well and they keep saying i dont look like i just had a baby. truth is i feel great except when i go to the bathroom and even that isnt as bad as i expected. iguess i just expected so much more pain and it helped me get thru it all. im finally starting to feel proud of myself as well which is hard to admit because im not one to take a compliment well.
