My SO's cousin has a son who is 6 weeks old. He was diagnosed with acid reflux right after birth. He has been struggling to keep any kind of formula down since birth and has gotten worse since then. He has been in the hospital since tuesday night because he was running a high fever and couldn't keep anything down. Thursday night he actually stopped breathing for about 30 seconds. Friday he was taken by ambulance to another hospital about an hour away to be checked out by a specialist. The specialist ran several tests. When they got him to this hospital they could not get an IV in him anywhere. They ended up having to put the IV in his head. They confirmed it was severe acid reflux and they put him on the strongest medicine they could give him to help him get his strength up for surgery. They did surgery today and wrapped his stomach around his esphagus and he is doing good. If everything goes good he can go home in 2-4 days. He has had such a rough time since he was born. I have a 2 month old daughter who crys alot and it gets pretty stressful but i am so blessed to have a baby who does that and is totally healthy than to have a baby needing surgery already. I couldn't imagine having to go through this with either one of my daughters. Please keep Baby Levi in ur prayers. He really needs it.
