Hi my name is Cheralyn and i am looking for a group that meets my issue.I think this is the right one but i'm not sure. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 and a half years. His mom has a problem with crack and his sister is addicted to heroin. Well she has a 10 yr old daughter that has been passed around since she was born. Me and my boyfriend had our son in jan of 2006. Now we have custody of his sisters 10 yr old and we've had her since october of 2006. My boyfriends sister gave birth to another little girl in january of 2007 and she was born addicted. Every thing seems fine with her though. Does anybody know what the affects of heroin has on a baby? But we also have custody of her now too. Can u help/ Do I belong in this group?

They might have some brain damage or something, and behavioral problems later in life.  I know that they suffer the same way an adult would during withdrawal, and that sometimes, doctors continue to give the baby some kind of drug and ease them off of the drug they were born addicted to.
Being born addicted is not a great way to start out, but with a lot of love and nurturing, that child could grow into a well-rounded adult.
