We adopted a 4 year old maltipoo from a shelter, he is a great dog, except when anyone comes over to our house he tries to attack them and barks non stop at them. Any suggestions to get him to warm up to visitors?

Since he is tring to attack them, I'm not sure. But my brother had a dog that was afraid of people and barked at them, so he kept some dog treats by the door and had visitors grab a treat when they came over and give it to the dog. That worked great, although if you have a lot of friends coming over it would be a bit too much.

I have tried having people give him treats, I just don't understand, he is such a sweet dog until someone comes over...could it be from being abused??

You might want to look into the Thunder Shirt its amazing! Did wonders for my Pomeranians constant barking when we would leave and also when people came over. Thundershirt.com sorry I'm mobile I can't link it! :(
